Course Overview (what why who SDG NDP EASI)

For SDGs to be efficiently and successfully implemented, all relevant organizations, countries and ministries have to develop SDG indicators in order to be able to measure the SDGs.  Donor or partner countries are supposed to influence planning, monitoring and evaluation of development projects according to the SDG indicators among all stakeholders involved (https://www.energypedia-consult.com/en/blog/johanna-hartmann/way-measuring-sdgs-implications-project-monitoring ). National Development plans too need to be monitored and managed. This is best done by use of M&E information. A number of organizations lack the required M&E skills and competencies to implement, monitor and evaluate their plans. EASI, therefore, designed this M&E course to meet this need.

This online course is designed for those who are new to M&E as well as those who may have had some exposure at their workplaces but would want to formalize their existing understanding. You will be taken through the whole process of setting up an M&E system from developing results and indicators, to collecting data and finding the right IT tool to manage them (https://www.energypedia-consult.com/en/monitoring-evaluation-me ). The course includes a series of activities and assignments as part of the learning. Case studies of previous or ongoing M&E activities are referred to during the course.
